The point is... it doesn't cost a lot of money to get info out to the property owners!

Several property owners have emailed me about a recent comment I made on the blog. Here is some clarification. The total cost of this blog IS 4 bucks a month. That is everything. Comparisons have been made with my blog and the official alpine site. There are some major differences. the biggest by far is the cost. How much the official site cost property owners has never been disclosed through a motion but the estimate is between $6,000 and $10,000. Of course, additional costs are the set up fees, hosting fees, yearly contracts and monitoring fees that would be paid by us. It would be interesting to find out the actual cost.
AlpineLakeBlog.com also offers discussion topics, videos, real time weather and traffic, plus that super cute frog timeline. New stories are posted almost daily. And probably the biggest difference... everyone is welcome to post comments for discussion.
The blog averages about 2300 hits a week ~ all this for 4 dollars a month.

This blog has been an amazing addition to the AL community. Thank you very much.
As someone else has stated, we only get to the compound around once a month, sometimes for only a weekend. This site has kept us connected to the community that we have a lot of time, money, and emotion invested in.
My hope is that this blog and the official site can come together so that the open exchange of information will become the norm.
