a week around the compound ~~ 6/11 - 6/17

-------------------------------------------
a few things that happened last week...

-------------------------------------------

- A member of the alpine family, Megan, graduated this week.
Congrats to her and all seniors!

- Saw Mary at Grand Central Station doing a little shopping.

-  Then saw this snapper in Mary's driveway on the way home!

- Noticed Richard & Cindy headed to the driving range. How'd he find time to do that?

- A group of alpine neighbors enjoyed piano music Saturday evening.

- Had a chance to chat with Cal & Dor.

- You can now purchase a SkyCaddie at the pro shop... whatever that means!

- The wildflowers are blooming... hard to believe a few weeks ago the trees were bare and it still looked like winter.

- Hey everybody... wave to Jeff!

- The workcrews are busy just past the entrance. The ALPUC building is getting further along each day. And another crew is working hard on B & K's store.

- Over 2300 visitors to the blog this week! I'm almost embarrassed so many are checking us out.

Hi Judy, I believe the B&K store refers to a new convenience store being built near the guard shack, next to the ALPUC buildings.

From the horse's (Bayers') mouth: The store being built is called the "Bayer Necessities." It is going to be remenisant of an old time general store and gift shop, where you can buy all your necessities from milk & bread to beer & fine wines, from bait & tackle to locally crafted gifts & memerobilia. We look forward to being a real asset as well as convenience to our community. Watch for opening sometime in July. Bob & Kay
