DIANA-logue ~~~ closet bloggers

So the blog has been going now for about 2 months and 6 days. When I started it, I'd never done anything like it before. I learned as I went along. I just knew there was a way to get all the property owners of Alpine Lake together. No matter where you are... Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Florida, wherever... you could keep in touch with what's going on. I am pleased most folks are enjoying the blog and making contributions by posting comments.

So here's the topic of this DIANA-logue... are you a closet blogger? That is... someone who reads the blog, but maybe you don't tell others that you read it. Its OK, I'm not trying to 'out' anyone. But I will say this... you may be surprised how many people are reading the blog. Since its my blog, I have access to lots of information you'd need to be a 'puter geek to understand. But I'll list some numbers so you can see how many are checking us out...

number of IP addresses --   1191 different IP addresses (an IP address is a unique address to each computer)-- that means 1191 different computers have accessed the blog

number of total hits on the site -- well over 50,000

There have been 133 entries listed and  449 comments to those stories

So you can see, many folks are looking! So if you're a closet blogger, that's OK. But as you can see, you don't need to worry whether your neighbor will find out... because THEY are checking it out too!

By the way... someone posted a dislike to this article.
Boy, guess someone doesn't want to be 'tossed out of the closet'!

I just posted a "dislike" vote because I felt the tone of the article was, perhaps unintentionally, threatening. For example, does "I'm not trying to 'out' anyone" carry the implied threat "but I could"? I just found the article out of character with the other entries which are largely positive and inviting and tend to encourage participation, not throttle it.

Hey Jeffrey! If the article came across as threatening to anyone I do apologize. No threat either implied or unintentional was intended. There is no way for me to 'out' anyone since the AlpineLakeBlog does not track users' emails or names.

I appreciate you owning up to the dislike vote...and I understand the reason for it.The idea for the article was to let the blog users know the large number of people accessing the site.

As always, I always look forward to your comments and input.
